Day 5 - Vive le Quebec

Today we were in the zone. Traveling at a pretty good pace we made it to Quebec City by early afternoon. Cycling is almost like meditating, you have your mantra, that is the repetitive motion of the pedalling and the peacefulness of being in a group in silence. It also helps that the route into Quebec City is beautiful, with farms and golden fields lining the rolling hills along this province's Route Verte.

Unfortunately we did get lost (again), but did make our way back to the fleuve St.Laurent to find ourselves battling our first 12 degree slope. (Apparently we have to ride a 20 degree slope in Gaspesie, possible?? We're not so sure...).

We entered Quebec City along an amazing riverside bike path, complete with art and gardens, and views of sailboats sharing our west tailwind.

After our fifth straight day of cycling, we parked ourselves on the nearest patio we could find and enjoyed a well earned pint. :)

  3. Great job to everyone, sounds like an amazing trip. It has motivated me to at least go for a Sunday afternoon bike ride :) If you want me to look at potential restaurants for a celebration dinner when you arrive to Halifax, let me know!
