The van is packed and the bikes are in good working order. Most importantly, everyone is feeling pretty fit and mentally prepared for the long road ahead. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day to start out the trip. Sheila, Meg, and Leslie headed out on their bikes around 10 am on Mon., Aug. 12th with Danielle and Victor providing vehicle support.

Kyle and I stayed back in Ottawa since we're joining later, but we fit in a solidarity ride after work. Between the two of us combined, we racked up the same distance the others covered today, about 120 km. To train for the upcoming hills in the Gaspé region, we did hill repeats in Gatineau Park and climbed Pink Lake three times.
