A bit about us

This started out as a month-long vacation among friends doing something we love: cycling. It's turning into a summer of training with a fundraising goal. We've all known each other for a few years--some of us going back to childhood--and have been on some bike tours and camping trips together. This is easily the longest group bike trip any of us have ever taken. With our shared sense of adventure, love of the great outdoors, and organizational skills, we're feeling up to the challenge.

Sheila, Meg, Leslie and Danielle will be setting off directly from Ottawa on Mon., Aug. 12--just four weeks from now!

Emma will meet up with the group in Quebec City for 10 days of biking. This may be the most challenging terrain. She's looking forward to the Gaspésie and really hopes to see a whale or two!

Kyle will be joining the group in Rimouski for seven days of biking through the Gaspé peninsula. He hopes to enjoy some hills, ocean views, and camping,

Valerie will bring her energy and spirit to the group for the final leg of the trip into Halifax. She's coming all the way from Beijing, where she has been living for the past 1.5 years, and we're really excited to have her with us for about five days.

This bike trip would not be possible if it weren't for our driver: Victor. Transporting our gear, tailing us on busy highways, and coming to the rescue in the event of emergencies, Victor will be nearby in our rental van should we encounter any trouble.

Danielle notes, "arising from the physical challenge was an opportunity to raise money to benefit Easter Seals Ontario, which makes the long distances that much more rewarding and motivating." We are all committed to the Easter Seals' cause and are eager to raise money to support kids in need.
